Use this resources for raising awareness about existing stereotypes in the class.

This 2 minutes English video illustrates a situation experienced by girls of the school …. who took part to a workshop organized in the frame of Gender4STEM project. In the video girls claim receiving good results in STEM disciplines while boys keep on  saying  they are better than them.

Gia is a teenager who  wants to be a computer scientist. Today is a reports day at School and she feels a little bit nervous. Finally, she is relieved since she got a very good mark in IT, which is her favorite subject. Marc, her classmate, wants to know about Gia’s results. Know more about  what happens after Gia tells him about  her very good results…

Use this resource to engage discussions in your classroom “Do girls have talent for STEM?” and raise awareness on gender stereotypes and biases (conscious and unconscious) in STEM education.

You can combine this resource with the Hypathia resource “Find gender stereotypes in STEM representations!”.
